Creating an Assignment

Assignments are used to send colour standards to suppliers (one or many) for colour distribution purposes, and for quality control. Measurements made against standards in an assignment can either be automatically approved/declined by CAPQ or by manual evaluation against the chosen tolerance set defined for the colour standard.

  1. Click on “Assignments”
  2. Click on “New assignment”
  3. Assign a name, optional description and project of the assignment
  4. Select if you want measurements to be automatically approved or not when they are uploaded
    1. Manual: Manual approval means that measurements are approved or rejected by you, the assignment owner. An uploaded measurements against a colour standard will be seen by the owner of the colour standard when "Send for review" is clicked.
    2. Automatic: Automatic approval means that measurements are automatically approved or rejected by CAPQ based on the tolerance set criteria that you have defined for each colour standard. All uploaded measurements against a colour standard will be seen by the owner of the assignment.
  5. Select which supplier(s) to distribute the assignment to from the dropdown. All suppliers of an assignment will see all uploaded measurements.
  6. Set starting date and optional end date of the assignment.
  7. Click on “Next”
  8. Select the the colour standard(s) you want to include in the assignment
  9. Click on "Next"
  10. Choose if you want to override certain parameters of the colour standard in this specific assignment 
    1. Description: Give the selected colour standard(s) an assignment description, for example explaining how the colour should be measured in this specific assignment
    2. Material: Specify the material for which the colour standard is to be produced in this assignment
    3. Gloss: Override the selected colour standard gloss value
    4. Tolerance set: Override the Tolerance Set that has been chosen for the selected colour standard(s) by clicking on the “Tolerance Set” dropdown
  11. Click on "Next"
  12. Review your assignment details to ensure it is correct and then click "Save" to create the assignment
