Instruments Explained

The fundamental pre-requisite for working in CAPQ is to have one or more instruments connected to the platform.

Instruments are connected by measuring a connection set containing a controlled set of calibrated colour samples representing a wide array of the colour space. By measuring the connection set and uploading the measurements to CAPQ, the instrument is profiled with the given settings.

An instrument can be connected via multiple profiles, for example for different aperture settings or specular component inclusion/exclusion. Each setting has to have its own active profile, created by measuring the connection set and uploading them to CAPQ in the connection procedure described below.
