Preparing an Instrument Connection

If you are a supervisor or administrator and have chosen to configure CAPQ with a local reference instrument, then you can prepare local instruments yourself.

1. Click on your account in the main menu
2. Click on “Account”
3. Click on “Instruments”
4. Click on “+ Instrument”
5. Input the connection set ID
6. Set “Number of gloss levels” to 1
7. Select instrument make and model and choose the settings which you want to configure the instrument for
8. Select which local reference instrument settings you want to use
9. Measure the connection set in the reference instrument and export it as per your local QC software procedure (for example into a QTX file)
10. Upload the A and B measurements from the reference instrument into CAPQ.
11. Select the default gloss level that applies normally to your type of production
12. Send the connection set to the location of the instrument that is to be connected (see below instructions on finalizing the connection)

If you are an administrator and do not work with local reference instruments and require a new instrument connection, please send an email to support@ncscolour.com. CAPQ Support will initiate the instrument connection and send a connection set to the instrument owner. If you are not an administrator, please contact your system administrator.
