Reviewing Measurement Results
The analysis for measurements made against colour standards in assignments with manual and automated approval differ. For colour standards with automated approval CAPQ will determine, based on tolerances, if the colour match is approved or not. For the manual case CAPQ will indicate, based on tolerances, if the measurement should be approved or not. Still, the manual approval is always necessary.
Please note: Everywhere on the CAPQ platform, all data of your colour standards are displayed as profiled to the NCS Colour reference instruments (one for d/8 and one for 45/0) to enable comparisons, for example to determine if a measurement against a colour standard is within tolerances. This means that all spectral data is recalculated (profiled) every time it is uploaded to CAPQ. When it is downloaded to a specific instrument it will be recalculated (profiled) to that instrument. This enables comparisons in your local QC software between the colour standard and your raw data.
- Click on ”Assignments”
- Click on the assignment you wish to analyze. In the assignment overview page all measurements and the status of them can be seen. The report button will show a summary of the measurement results, with columns for all specified tolerances.
- Click on the “Measurements” tab. Search or filter to find the measurement more easily.
- Click on the the measurement to review
- Summary: The overview page will display all the critical tolerance criteria that were defined for each selected colour standard and its measurements and whether or not the measurements passed the criteria.
- CIELab: The CIELab page will display the measurements as plotted in the CIELab coordinate system (a*b*-, A*L*- and b*L* planes respectively) as well as displaying the dE00 , dL*, da* and db* difference values compared to the standards they were measured against.
- NCS: The NCS page will display the measurements as plotted in the NCS coordinate system. There are three display types, “NCS chart”, “Zoomed NCS Chart” and “NCS table”.
- Spectral plot: The spectral plot page will display each measurement and its respective standard as plotted in the wavelengths 360-780 nm.
- Gloss: The gloss table page will display the gloss values (20, 60 or 80 degrees) and their difference compared to the standards they were measured against.
- Tolerances: The tolerance table will display all of the tolerances that were defined for the colour standard when it was distributed in the assignment and whether they are critical or not.
Note: The data points presented in the measurement review reports are dependent on what tolerance parameters you have defined for the colour standards that the measurements were uploaded against.
